Getting to Know Your FAUS Board
Donna joined the Feingold Association in 1986.
She first volunteered as a Program Assistant
for her Illinois state chapter ( now disbanded).
She also managed the Feingold Lending Library.
Next, Donna volunteered her services
with the Product Information Committee [PIC],
and acted as a state volunteer coordinator.
Ultimately, she became the Director of PIC and
served in that position for eight years. One major accomplishment
during her tenure was developing the electronically generated
Foodlist we use today. Because of this, along with other
technological advances, it became possible to update each
regional Foodlist twice a year. Ms. Curtis now lives in Missouri
near her grandchildren. In 2003, she was appointed to fill a
vacancy on the Board where she has served as Treasurer and
also served as FAUS President for a time. Donna was re-elected
this past June and is still a part of the PIC Committee.

Dear Feingold
Members,
It has come to our
attention that some
members are having
a reaction to whole
milk. As a result, we
can no longer say that “any” whole milk is
acceptable, and have begun researching all
milks.
If you are using a whole milk that is not
listed in the Foodlist and are having no
problem with it, please contact that dairy
and ask if they would like to be listed in our
Foodlist & Shopping Guide so that everyone
in that area can purchase their milks. You
can send that contact information to
ckharrell@att.net .

Two moms in Marietta, Georgia have just opened a Feingold
friendly bakery! At Sarah Kate's Bakery, you can be sure that you
will not have to worry about petroleum-based chemicals,
corn syrup or trans fats in your sweet treats. Sarah Kodinsky
and Katie Nelson are excited to offer customized birthday cakes
in all shapes, sizes and (all natural) colors! They also specialize
in gourmet cupcakes with exciting flavors including Peanut Butter
Cup, Cookies & Cream and many other flavors, including a flavor
of the month. For parties, they offer cupcake displays and
decorative cupcake toppers made from fondant, a sugar
confection which they make from scratch.
All of the food coloring, sanding sugar and other decorations used on their cakes and treats are Feingold
approved and do not contain corn syrup. They also offer cakes, cupcakes, cookies and cake pops that
are gluten and casein free (and egg, soy or corn free upon request). The kitchen they bake in is not
allergen free and because of the risk of cross contamination they do not recommend their products for
those with a severe allergy to these or other foods. Sarah Kate's bakes out of a commercial kitchen in
Marietta; however their store is not open to the public. To place an order, please visit the website at
www.sarahkatesbakery.com, email sarahkatesbakery@gmail.com or call 770-940-2260.
Don't live in the Atlanta area? You can still enjoy Sarah Kate's Sweet Treats! Sarah Kate's will be selling
their customized, hand decorated sugar cookies online and will ship them to anywhere in the U.S. and
Canada. They are currently developing their holiday offerings and plan to have some extra special treats
for the holidays that can be shipped as well - including cookie cream pies and unique cupcakes in a jar!

Baby teeth are eventually replaced by adult teeth, but if not cared for properly, they can damage permanent teeth.
Baby bottle tooth decay happens when the teeth come into frequent contact with sugars in bottle filled liquids such as juice, formula or milk. This is like bathing their teeth with sugar. The liquid is converted in the mouth to simple sugars which bacteria feed on, causing tooth decay. This can cause pain and make it difficult to eat. If the teeth become infected and are lost prematurely, they can affect the permanent teeth.

Baby Bottle Tooth Decay What every parent must know
|
Here are some tips on how to prevent baby bottle tooth decay:
- Use plain water in bottle at bedtime.
- Don’t dip pacifier in sugar or other
sweets.
- For infants, use a wet soft wash
cloth or gauze to wipe and clean your child’s teeth and gums after each feeding.
- Toddlers and children’s teeth should
be cleaned with a soft toothbrush and a non-fluoride, but xylitol- containing toothpaste that is safe if swallowed.
