Things to Look Out For at School
You know the list you get every year
of school supplies that you need to
purchase for the kids!
- Instead of markers get colored pencils or
low-odor markers.
- Remember that you might need to purchase
soap to replace the school bathroom soap
- Make sure your child's classroom teacher is
not using scented plug ins.
To _ _ _ ’s teachers,
This is to officially notify _ _ _ 's teachers that he
is on a special diet called the Feingold diet, due
to some food & chemical sensitivities and
allergies. The diet eliminates artificial colors,
artificial flavors, certain preservatives and even
some natural foods.
Please do not give _ _ _ any food, drink or treat
unless I send it in or it has been approved by me
ahead of time.
Please share this information with any other
teachers who may reward _ _ _ with a “treat.”
I would greatly appreciate it if you give me at
least a day’s notice when you are going to have
a party or lunch out or any special event with
food so that I can provide a substitute if
necessary.
Sincerely,

If the area where your child
waits to go home is exposed
to bus fumes, ask the
school to prevent the buses
from idling with their motors
running or to have the children wait
elsewhere. If this cannot be done, arrange a way to
arrive early to pick up your child at dismissal, to prevent
exposure to these fumes. They are toxic to everyone
and can interfere with your child's ability to accomplish
anything at homework time. If you carpool, make sure
no members of your carpool group have "air
fresheners" sprayed or hanging in their car.
Outside Problems at School
Here is One Member's Version
of the Dear Teacher Letter
Peel a banana from the
bottom and you won’t
have to pick the little
“stringy things” off of
it. That’s how the
primates do it. Take
your bananas apart
when you get home from the store. If you
leave them connected at the stem, they
ripen faster.
How the Monkeys Do It
Frozen Treats at School
You can ask your teacher to
put frozen treats in the
teacher's lounge refrigerator.
There are many different
ones listed in your Foodlist &
Shopping Guide.
Note: Make sure to put your
child's name on the bag of
treats so that no one else
eats them by accident.
