Buying a turkey can be a big deal
at holiday time.  You can
purchase an accepted one at
your local store or you can locate
a turkey farmer in your area.  If
you opt for a local fresh turkey,
free of all the injected,
pre-basting solutions or broths,
make sure to order the bird
early.  The key is to get a bird
that will feed your family nicely
with meat left over for those
after- Thanksgiving casseroles.
The normal guide to go by is 2
pounds per person.

Put citrus peels into a  warm oven
or toss  them into the fireplace
(if you are not  sensitive to
fireplace smoke). The tangy citrus
oils released by the heat will
permeate the house, and should
be tolerated by most people.

Another option is to simmer peels
on the stove a medium sized
saucepan with water and
cinnamon sticks.

Solution:  For white meat, cook two or three turkey
breasts instead of one entire bird.
For dark meat, serve thighs and legs.
Problem:   Your guests are picky  eaters
and only like one type of meat.
You should be able to identify symptoms which
have either disappeared  or diminished. Here are
some examples that have been reported:
How Can I Identify Improvement?
• You may notice that he stays seated at the
table throughout an entire meal.

• She might show signs of affection or allow
you to give her a hug.

• He may walk into a room and sit on a chair
rather than “crashing” through the door
and “attacking” the furniture.

• You might have a quiet car ride.

• Perhaps her response to your discipline
may be “I’m sorry,” instead of telling you
that it is everyone else’s fault.
• You may notice that even with a friend
over playing for an hour, his room does not
look like a war zone.

• Family members may notice that they
finished a whole conversation without

• When you see her yawn or show signs of
fatigue, you say “It’s bedtime,” and she
actually goes to bed without the usual two-
hour production.

• He may sleep through the night or sleep
late for the first time.
