Corn Syrup and High Fructose Corn Syrup are low-cost sweeteners
used in many processed foods. They are produced by treating
cornstarch with powerful acids and other chemicals. They are high in
sulfites. This, or a residue of chemicals picked up during processing,
may account for reactions some individuals have to corn syrup.
